AUTHENTIC MIDCENTURY MODERN STYLE LIVING IN NORTH DALLAS
A collaboration between the homeowner and this designer to keep authentic midcentury modern style alive and well in her custom-built home.
We stayed true to MCM by choosing a few primary colors for the color palette and repeating them for a cohesive look throughout the home including the back and side patios.
The client was willing to be bold and place bold colors on the walls, so we did! Bright red brings vibrancy and energy to the fireplace facade and casual dining room. A colorful abstract mural is also painted on one wall of the casual dining room to add an artistic focal point and contrast.
Throughout the home you’ll see classic midcentury modern furniture pieces: Jacobsen Swan chairs, Jacobsen Series 7 chairs at the Saarinen marble table, Nelson bubble lamp, Saarinen side table, Bertoia Diamond chair, Bertoia, side chairs, Knoll sofa, Herman Miller CSS wall unit, teak Danish modern dining table and chairs and matching sideboard, kidney table, butterfly chair.
In today’s retail world both online and brick & mortar, there are so many knockoffs, it is very difficult to find authentic midcentury modern furnishings and accessories. It’s difficult for the average person to know what authentic MCM style is exactly.
At CAVALIERI DESIGNS, Claire Cavalieri can help you discern authentic MCM from imitation style, genuine from knockoffs. Contact CAVALIERI DESIGNS for our help, guidance, and direction for anything to do with MIDCENTURY MODERN. We’re the experts.
